(Recorded Webinar) Voter Engagement, Political Activity, and Lobbying: Rules of the Road for Election 2024 and Beyond
As election season heats up, join Feldesman Leifer attorneys Molly Evans and Mike Glomb as they discuss the rules of the road for non-profits when it comes to voter engagement, political activity, and lobbying. In this training, the presenters will review the restrictions and requirements for tax-exempt organizations and for recipients of federal funding. They will also respond to frequently asked questions such as:
- Can we hold voter registration drives in our clinic sites?
- Can candidates tour our health center as part of their campaign?
- Can we host a forum at our health center about an important campaign-related issue (environmental justice, access to health care, etc.)?
- Can we follow, like, or repost from a candidate's social media using our organization's social media accounts?
Additionally, the attorneys will provide best practices to avoid and mitigate compliance risks in the areas of voter engagement, political activity, and lobbying.
