HIPAA Fundamentals
Designed for Compliance Officers and Privacy Officers, this small group, hands-on two-day training is led by FTLF attorneys with years of experience working with Federally Qualified Health Centers on risk management and compliance issues. The training includes an introduction to the HIPAA Rules and an in-depth discussion about protecting patient health information.
The curriculum includes both the legal requirements and best practices for determining whether a breach has occurred, determining whether a business associate relationship exists, and responding to patient complaints and government investigations. The trainers will also share a series of real-life examples from health centers and other covered entities.
At this highly interactive training, you will have the opportunity to ask questions in a comfortable setting and receive direct answers from the trainers. Additionally, you will be able to learn how other health centers tackle similar issues and brainstorm with your peers and trainers on how to build and maintain an effective HIPAA Compliance program.
Included in your registration:
- Educational sessions on the HIPAA Rules and recent HIPAA enforcement actions;
- Small class size to allow for one-on-one support from trainers;
- Networking opportunities;
- Compliance resources including FTLF’s sample breach log and sample business associate agreement as well as resources from the Office for Civil Rights; and
- Continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks on both days.
Please note that this training is limited to a small number of participants to allow for conversation, networking and one-on-one support from the trainers.
