HIPAA Requirements for PHI Disclosures

September 30, 2025

The HIPAA Privacy Rule provides the minimum privacy standards for protecting patient health information, and part of those protections limit the permissible uses and disclosures organizations (Covered Entities and Business Associates) can make without patient authorization. Knowing when and how to disclose patient information is an essential component of any organization’s Privacy Program.

During this webinar, we will discuss the different disclosure requirements under HIPAA, including required and permissible disclosures. This webinar is designed to give individuals a foundational knowledge of the different disclosure requirements and explore some common questions and scenarios about when and how to disclose patient health information. Whether you are new to the world of privacy or have been working in this field for several years, this webinar will serve as a reminder for the foundational elements of PHI disclosures.

The on-demand version of this webinar will be available for purchase after the conclusion of the live webinar.
