(Recorded Webinar) The New Head Start COVID-19 Masking and Vaccine Directive
This course is closed to new enrollments.
On November 30, 2021, the Office of Head Start issued an Interim Final Rule with Comment Period (IFC) with new Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) that require masking of all individuals 2 years of age or older and COVID-19 vaccination for the nearly 300,000 staff at Head Start programs across the country. These standards are effective immediately and apply to Head Start, Early Head Start, Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership, and American Indian and Alaska Native, and Migrant and Seasonal Head Start programs. The IFC does not include a vaccine-or-test option; however, employees may request a religious or medical exemption and, if granted, employers must provide a reasonable accommodation, and those who are granted an exemption must undergo at least weekly testing.
All covered individuals, including staff, certain contractors, and volunteers must have completed their COVID-19 vaccination by January 31, 2022.
Join FTLF for this timely webinar which will:
- Provide an in-depth look at the new Head Start directive;
- Give insight on which members of the Head Start team are covered by the vaccine mandate;
