Are You at Risk for a False Claim? Assessing DEI Programs, Certification Risks and Administration Priorities
This webinar is included in the Federal Grants Training Membership.
The Department of Justice and other agencies are increasingly using the civil False Claims Act (FCA) as a powerful mechanism to enforce programmatic compliance with the Administration’s priorities. Because even the mere allegation of an FCA violation is a major event—encompassing a burdensome investigation and potential significant liability—the avoidance of perceived FCA violations serves as an important risk management tool for all federal grant recipients.
This webinar, presented by Feldesman Partner Mindy Pava, will offer insight as to how federal funding recipients can track Administration directives and agency implementation to better ensure that their policies, procedures and compliance obligations steer clear of potential FCA liability. Specifically, the training will tackle the Administration’s guidance on federal anti-discrimination laws and changes in interpretation to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Ms. Pava will also review certifications and assurances added to many grants, with the caveat that the certification is considered material to the government’s payment decision under the FCA.
This webinar will also examine ongoing court challenges and litigation and provide practical guidance on strategies grantees can adopt to mitigate risk during uncertain times.
The on-demand version of this webinar will be available for purchase after the conclusion of the live webinar.
