Meet Your Match: Cost Sharing in Head Start
This webinar is included in the Head Start Training Package.
Head Start programs must provide 20% of their total program costs through in-kind donations or cash cost share (commonly known as “match”). These contributions must be used to support allowable costs under the Head Start grant for expenses that the program would otherwise use federal funds. Failure to comply with cost share requirements could result in negative audit or review findings, possibly leading to a disallowance.
This webinar will provide an overview of Head Start programs’ cost share responsibility, proven ways for Head Start agencies to meet cost share requirements, documentation requirements, and best practices. We will also provide informed answers to your most frequently asked questions, including:
- Which items and services count as match?
- How do you document matching share correctly?
- When should my program consider requesting a waiver of the match requirement?
The on-demand version of this webinar will be available for purchase one week after the conclusion of the live webinar.
