Out With the Old, In With the New: Previewing The Government’s Anticipated Enforcement Priorities for Year 2025
Each year, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) pulls back the curtain on federal civil fraud activity: highlighting enforcement priorities, announcing the number of settlements and judgments obtained, totaling recoveries, and illuminating qui tam whistleblower activity under the False Claims Act. DOJ’s statistics and insights are relevant to recipients of federal funding striving to ensure compliance in the complex, highly-regulated environments in which they operate.
As the new year begins, Feldesman attorneys Rosie Dawn Griffin and Mindy B. Pava will provide an overview of DOJ’s fiscal year 2024 activity and project enforcement trends and activity for the coming year. The government identified cybersecurity, pandemic-related loans, and private equity firms causing the submission of false claims as specific focus areas for 2024, and Ms. Griffin and Ms. Pava will detail enforcement recoveries in those categories. The attorneys will also discuss the government’s expected enforcement priorities for 2025 and anticipate what federal grantees might expect from a new Trump Administration DOJ. If you care about the government’s plans to actively investigate and seek recoveries for false claims and fraudulent activity, you won’t want to miss this webinar.
