Cost Allocation and Indirect Cost Rates

September 23, 2027

This webinar is included in the 2027 Federal Grants Training Membership.

One of the most challenging compliance obligations for federal grantees is ensuring that they charge only “allocable” costs to their federal awards. At its core a straightforward concept, in practice cost allocation can prove a complex endeavor.  From direct allocation, through cost allocation plans, federally approved indirect cost rate agreements or de minimis rate options, an understanding of cost allocation principles aids grantees in efficiently and properly recovering project costs from the federal government.

Join Feldesman Managing Partner Ted Waters to build from cost allocation basics to intermediate allocation concepts, examine practical examples, and walk through the indirect rate agreement negotiation process, as well as implications of moving from a negotiated rate to the de minimis rate, or deciding among cost recovery strategies if your organization has not negotiated an indirect cost rate or applied the de minimis option.

The on-demand version of this webinar will be available for purchase after the conclusion of the live webinar.
