Health and Safety Incident Reporting
Access the on-demand webinar here
Health and safety incidents have been and continue to be one of the leading causes for deficiency findings. The Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) previously left reporting standards vague and open-ended, but Information Memorandum (IM) ACF-IM-HS-22-07 on Reporting Child Health and Safety Incidents seeks to define to whom the incident should be reported, the reporting timeframe, and consequences for failure to follow those standards. Even with this clarity, there are still questions on how to handle health and safety concerns. For example, should you report mere allegations? What should you do if incidents involve non-Head Start participants? Are there still incidents that you need not report?
In this webinar, we share best practices to help you meet or exceed the expectations for conduct and reporting set forth by OHS in the IM and review procedures for staff, consultants, and volunteers who violate the standards of conduct.
