(Recorded Webinar) Applying Davis-Bacon Requirements
Are you planning to conduct work on your Head Start facilities? Generally, the terms “construction and renovation projects,” involve a complicated, high-cost undertaking. However, requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act apply to even minor projects, such as $2,000 for re-painting a facility. For Head Start programs, it is difficult to know what is covered and what is excluded from coverage. Head Start programs often wonder when these requirements apply in various circumstances such as HVAC or playground installations. Do these requirements still apply in the case of emergencies?
When Davis-Bacon does apply Head Start programs must ensure that all laborers are paid “locally prevailing wages” (as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor), even for smaller projects.
In this webinar, we'll provide an overview of the Davis-Bacon Act and discuss the answers to common questions like:
- What are the relevant Davis-Bacon Act requirements for Head Start programs?
- What do you need to know about laborers and mechanics, payroll certifications, and required contract clauses?
- How do I figure out what the locally prevailing wage is in my area?
- How do you stay in compliance with Davis-Bacon Act requirements?
- What are the consequences of non-compliance?
