Subrecipient monitoring continues to be an area of focus for federal funding agencies, with a high degree of focus on risk assessments and monitoring of subrecipient performance. Recipients take different approaches to these obligations, from desk reviews to site visits to periodic (or more frequent) assessments of documentation supporting claimed costs.

In this session, attorney Scott S. Sheffler will address key subrecipient policies, procedures, and systems from the perspective of recipient evaluation of subrecipient grant management compliance. Working from core compliance requirements under the Uniform Guidance, 2 C.F.R. Part 200, Ms. Pava and Mr. Sheffler will discuss practical tools and strategies to assess subrecipient capacity and compliance, from initial risk assessment through oversight in performance.
