(Recorded Webinar) Out With the Old, In With the New: Anticipated Shifts in False Claims Act Enforcement Under the Trump Administration's New Executive Orders

Duration: 60 minutes
Recorded on: 03/18/2025

Each year, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) pulls back the curtain on federal civil fraud activity: highlighting enforcement priorities, announcing the number of settlements and judgments obtained, totaling recoveries, and illuminating qui tam whistleblower activity under the False Claims Act. DOJ’s fiscal year 2024 enforcement activities provide insight to recipients of federal funding striving to ensure compliance in the complex, highly-regulated environments in which they operate. While we can learn a lot from the past, this year’s changes in Washington undoubtedly bring new enforcement priorities and compliance challenges.

In this webinar, Feldesman attorneys Rosie Dawn Griffin and Mindy B. Pava will provide an overview of DOJ’s fiscal year 2024 activity and enforcement recoveries, especially in the categories of cybersecurity and pandemic-related loans, which are expected to continue to be focus areas in 2025. The training will also include a discussion of what federal grantees can expect from the Trump Administration’s DOJ, with a special emphasis on how possible new certification requirements—for example the DEI-related certification previewed in an Executive Order could turn requests for payments into actionable “false claims,” creating considerable (but manageable) risk for grantees.

If you care about the government’s plans to actively investigate and seek recoveries for false claims and fraudulent activity, and you have questions about the implementation of Trump’s Executive Orders, you won’t want to miss this webinar.
